In a candid conversation with Pune’s famous fashion blogger – Roshni Kapoor
Harshit : Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?
Roshni: I am a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogger by profession, born in Srinagar, and raised in Amritsar (Punjab). My mother was a lawyer by profession and my father was a businessman. I have completed my graduation from B.B.K.D.A.V College for Women. Travelling has always been a passion for me and has given me exposure to various fashion cultures and trends. Another thing that attracts me while travelling is different kind of food, as I am a food lover. I like to do fabric painting in my free time. Other activities which I enjoy are horse riding, golf, dance and music. About my Blog haute manmzel I started blogging as an experiment a year back. I had several ideas that I was interested in blogging and I thought I could be fairly good at giving tips, analyzing fashion trends. What started off as an experiment a year ago has now become a part of my life. I have always been a shopaholic with an eye for clothes, accessories and shoes which can stand-out in terms of Looks and Fashion. But in recent months I have started enjoying my interaction with people on social media by giving tips and recommendations on Fashion and Brands. As of today I love the experience of shopping and sharing my experience through blogging
Harshit: Can you tell us some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?
Roshni: Your blog’s growth is dependent on your ability(and intentionality) of focusing on your core strengths as a person in the context of being a blogger and writer – there is no other sustainable or worthwhile model that is what I have always followed. Be positive and clear about what you want to express. When someone reads your blog they should be able to make a connection.
Harshit : What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
Roshni: Well! I believe social media marketing has really worked for me in driving traffic to my blog, as I am very consistent and aggressive on all the important social media platforms, 54% of my blogs traffic comes through social & 43% of it is a direct traffic and only 3% of the traffic comes from search. I strongly believe that your blog’s growth is mainly dependent on the kind of content that your share & how relevant it is to your audience. When someone reads your blog, how well they connect with it matters the most.
Harshit : Are your blog posts impromptu or does a certain amount of planning go into them?
Roshni : I have made it my passion so now writing a blog is what I love to do. There’s definitely planning involved in it, I make it a point that I am consistent towards its, I post my blogs on a weekly basis, being consistent is the key to become a successful blogger that’s how you create a loyal audience for your blog.
Harshit : What would you say that is the biggest challenge about fashion blogging?
Roshni: While creating a blog is easy but gathering a solid following isn’t as simple. How to stand out from the crowd? You have to have a unique style of your own that could woo the audience and create a magic.
It doesn’t matter how well your blog is designed or how fancy it is; if the content isn’t good, people won’t have a reason to visit it. Your voice and content have to be original and authentic.
Harshit : Who was your first style icon?
Roshni: I Work on myself and I love myself. I have always followed one thing: To believe you are the best. My only style icon is ME.
Harshit : What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger? (Invitations to fashion events, interaction with people, gifts, etc.)
Roshni : The greatest satisfaction is that it gives you an identity of your own in the domain you are. People know you, your fashion sense and appreciate it. Appreciation and love of your followers is all you need!!
Harshit : Which are the brands you have worked with?
